We have been heavily involved in the removal of Ash dieback over the last three years, offering a professional approach to deal with the problem. With our modern equipment we can safely dismantle trees mechanically by the road side or in the wood. Our Excavators tracks are fitted with removable rubber pads for any road work.
We specialise in cut-to-length harvesting from first thinning through to the final felling in both hard and softwood
Thinning is the removal of trees to provide the remaining crop enough light and space to increase growth rate. Normally this means removing those with less straight stems, with cracks or defects, tight and weak forks or the less vigorous and less healthy
Our forwarders range in size from medium to large and can move anything from short round wood
to whole tree brash removal.
All Forwarders can be fitted with a variety of tracks, to suit different types of ground conditions: if required.
All our operators are experienced and fully certified.
We have two sets of shears, both capable of cutting large diameter trees of up to 60cm and mounted on our 30 tonne excavators. It can also be used for bunching together small trees and undergrowth with the grab, ideal for coppice work. The shear has a powerful hardened blade that will cleanly and safely cut through timber which is a great benefit.
All aspects can be undertaken, from brashing trees to felling big hardwood and oversized trees for the harvester. All our saw operators are fully qualified for small to large fell trees.
We have one set of small shears, capable of cutting up to 30cm diameter and mounted on our 14 tonne excavator. It can also be used for bunching together small trees and undergrowth with the grab, ideal for coppice work. The shear has a powerful hardened blade that will cleanly and safely cut through timber which is a great benefit.
Excavator work includes:
Forming access tracks and extraction routes.
